Refuse

Refuse – Part of the Circular Economy

Refuse – The first of the Circular Rs is the consumer economic behaviour of refusing products that are not circular, sustainable or made with pollutants. Do not buy something you do not need.

Refuse to buy products that cannot be recycled or reused, repaired or remanufactured. Refuse a plastic bag or disposal single-use items (including single-use paper).

Refuse – A Consumer Behaviour

The first Circular R is ‘Refuse’. Consumers are asked to refuse products that are not circular, sustainable or are made with pollutants, but making that choice has its own problems.

All products impact the environment during one or more stages of their life cycles, which are production, use, and end of life. A natural step is therefore to tally up the environmental impacts of similar products throughout their life cycles and compare the results.
